Chatchai Sasakul – Keys to Striking Torso Rotation – 90 min | Chatchai Intensive

my first session with Chatchai starting an intensive 30 days - already so much being passed on

Full 90 minute video. The focus of the Sylvie Study site at the moment is the Karuhat Intensive project which will be documenting my daily work with Muay Thai Golden Age legend Karuhat Sor. Supawan, but I will also be training daily with an equally brilliant and impressive kru, former WBC World Boxing Champion and Thailand Coach of the Year Chatchai Sasakul. He is incredible, and I urge anyone traveling to Bangkok to take private lessons with him at his gym. You can communicate with him on Facebook here. A map to the gym is here. In any case, I just will not have the time to edit the footage I’m shooting with him in time to put it up this month, it will be added to the Sylvie Study site over the next year, but for the first two days of working together, before I started with Karuhat, I will have footage, and this is the first day of our sessions together. He packs so much essential, highly technical (mechanical) information into a session it’s crazy. I think I’ll call him The Hands Doctor, because he can fix and direct anything. In this session he worked on a lot of things, but perhaps the most important aspect he instructed was enhancing the twist of the torso.

This is a 90 full session video with commentary. Future sessions will be available in Vimeo On Demand with 55% of the net proceeds going to the kru.

You can also find a podcast of this session here.

You can find Sylvie TV channel page of all the free videos on Sylvie Study here.

My dedication is to the study of Muay Thai and the preservation of its techniques and culture as both a fighter and a journalist-documentarian. In my 6+ years of living in Thailand I have fought more than 200 times, more than any western man or woman.
